I've read that on a real Wii, when you select a channel on the Wii System Menu, and the channel menu/splash screen (whatever it's called) pops up giving you the option to return to the Wii System Menu or Start the application, when you click the button to 'Start' the game, the Wii will do a hard reset and then run the game (instead of booting into the System Menu). In Dolphin, at least on the latest version for Mac, when I try to launch a game from the Wii System Menu like that, Dolphin resets, but launches the Wii System Menu again.
